I have a 56 CJ5 with indeterminate parentage. I Intended to replace the rear brake shoe hardware and have not been able to find any that matches installed, i.e., spring length and configuration. The shoes measure 2" width, the drums are 12" diameter at the braking surface. Any ideas the vintage and source for these drums? 37-48 Fords have that size drum, but I have been unable to find related hardware for them to check compatibility.

Thanks for any suggestions.

That is an oddball size.
They were only used on some J-4600 & J-4700 trucks part # J0998253 (discontinued) Gould/Century C2309 C2332
IH used 12x2 brakes with 5-5 1/2 bolt pattern as well
C1300 for IH

Check scrap yards, if you have no luck finding them you could swap to 11x2 brakes.
