1983 CJ7 -258 cid strt 6. I did the 4.0 head swap #7120 casting head ported & polished, Offenhauser manifold, Holley truck avenger carb 4BBL jetted down to 270 cfi, Pacesetter headers, Magniflow exaust,Be Cool aluminum radiator w/ flocooler water pump, Powermaster HO alternator- TFI Juicebox ignition upgrade, 6" lift ,37 inch TrXus R/T tires, Superior one-piece chrome moly axles on dana 20 rear. 4.56 gear ratio, custom front quarter panel fenders done by me, 6" GENRIGHT rear tube fenders, Warn Dualforce 9500 winch mounted on Warn front stubby bumper, Olympic reverse nerfs, Corbeau Baja XRS seats w/ 4 point retractable seat belts and Hela Baja lighting. CB radio with P.A. Tube cage doors
I decided to buy the new Corbeau Baja XRS seats for my CJ7 . I had sat down in one at 4Wheelparts here in Mesa and thought 'Wow these are really comfortable!' plus my old high backs were getting pretty worn. So I went to Quadratec's site and plunked down roughly a grand to buy them plus seat belts and brackets. As always, we all know- things just never go that smoothly. It took around 7 weeks to get them but when they did arrive, I was happy to see everything I ordered was there. Well firstly, let me say these seats are BIG! I did the first dry fit to see how I should position them and realized quickly just how far down the rabbit hole I had gone. I couldnt recline them because the roll bar is right up against the back side of the seats. and I had also ordered the wrong sliders. My old seats sat on a 2 welded rails that ran from drivers to p assengers side. I had to remove that and order D-124 and D-125. Here's the railing removed. When I did get the new brackets it was still alot of grunting and p ushing to make them fit. Plus I had to redrill the sliders to push the seats closer to center. anyway 3 months after initial order-here is the result. I must say it was more work than expected and Contrary to Corbeau's claim these are direct fit for CJ7 you will have to do some mods to make them fit!

:)They look pretty cool , how do you like them? They are also available with a fabric panel in the middle any reason you stayed away from that?
Looking to change mine out , so looking for feedback.
Thanks

nice look'n seats.:chug:
I have the Baja Ultra seats with the same 4 point harness as you.
I love the seats but don't care for the harness they are kinda a pain,
I'm going to go to some 5 point ones.

:)Old Dog,
Same question.........how do you like yours and is the center cloth panel any better? Did you consider low back seats? In my CJ5 I have been looking at the dimensions on there seats simply because there is not much room in these old Jeeps. An adjustable back would be of no benefit in mine.
Your thoughts?

DirtyCj, I'm not trying to hijack you.;)

Tarry mine do not have cloth, I wanted them to be more water/dirt proof.
They are fixed back and I had to make some mounts that tied them into my cage. I had to do away with my stock console as there wasn't enough room anymore. At the same time you will not fit in them if your over 200# or so.
I do really like them though they hold you in on those off camber moments and are a joy to ride in all day.

Yes, your right and same thing here- water and dirt proof. I like em' they are real comfortable and yea that harness can be a pain but I got the retractable kind so I can sit up and look around.

:chug: looks good, it would drive me nuts waiting 7 weeks

I was looking at them after I found mine to be a pain. Do you like them?
Do you think they are as easy to get into as a 5 point would be?

The harness with the retractable really aren't bad. For just driving around I keep them loose.
