I recently installed a used steering column and intermediary steering shaft and while working on it the other day, I notice where it had flexed and rubbed up against the fender. Is that common? I turn in to my parking space from a tight alley, so I know I'm making a real sharp turn. Could it be flexing that much?

I'm thinking your steering box may be moving. Checked the frame for cracks?

How are the front tub body mounts? If they sag, that can let the steering shaft get real close to fender.

Have someone crank on the wheel while you look for movement. :D

If flexing is the case then a steering box brace will help a bunch. Especially if you have power steering.

you should send up some pictures. If your steering shaft is rubbing the fender, you need more than a brace.
