I have a Jamar line lock in my 56 CJ5 which is not properly engaging. Thought it might need a little TLC, so I started removing it only to discover I couldn't get it out. Seems like the plunger/control will need to be removed and therein lies the problem. Anyone remove or install one of these lately and remember how they did it?
This has been a very useful device in steep starts. Would be nice to have it work again.
Thanks.

You have to unscrew the stem unit with vise grips.
There will be a couple o-rings you'll need to replace.
Make sure you clean out the block with compressed air.

Thanks Posi. It doesn't seem the plunger (?) goes in as far as it should because it won't stay engaged until I hit the brakes again. Even took off the O-ring wondering if it was distorted/swollen but it still didn't engage any further. It seems there is a hard stop. I checked the block, no apparent debris, removed residual brake fluid. Any additional tips? I ordered another one just in case, I'll put it on my RZR if it works again.
