I am a little behind on making a build thread but today is a slow day at work so figured I would start one and catch up to my current status. This is what the jeep looked like the day I picked it up. I payed a little more than I should have for the shape it was in but I didnt know any better at the time....

I bought the jeep In Nebraska and hauled it back to Georgia. I had a busy year on the road working so it sat at my uncles house for the next year and a half. I got home and didnt remember there being as many holes in the jeep when I bought it. Guess thats what I get for buying it from snow country :bang:

Found me a good YJ tub and started tearing the jeep down. Good thing I decided to do a tub swap instead of fixing the bad spots. The deeper I got in the tear down the more cancer I found.

With the tub rusted as bad as it was I expected the frame to be in bad shape as well. Lucky for me it was in pretty decent shape. The rear body mounts on the cross member was broke and one small crack in the front. I didnt get as many pictures as I was planning but I always forget:doh:

My new YJ tub had minor surface rust under the windshield hinges. The rest of the body looked good until my impatient Uncle started moving it around by himself. Now it has tons of scratches from being drug and flipped on the concrete drive way:mad: Wish I would have stripped off the old undercoat and re coated it.

I dropped my jeep off at SBC Offroad Engineering. Scott done a great job for a great price. He installed one piece axles, 4.10 gears, welded my tubes and added a truss to my AMC20 , 4.1 in my Transfer Case , twin stick, ARB lockers front and rear, heavy duty tie rod, heavy duty steering assembly, and CV drive shaft. When I got back from working in Ohio i picked up my jeep and moved it to my new shop.

Started tearing the jeep apart again to do more mods. Added Smittybilt XRC corner guards, rock sliders and tube fenders. Test fitted my new front bumper, winch and KC lights. The lights are angled up some so have to find some kind of rubber grommet and longer bolt to install them with. I sprayed the rear bumper in Herculiner, installed the jerry can holders, and made a bracket for my back up lights out of some aluminum angle.

And now we are caught up on my build. I am working out in Cali right now and should be back home around Aug sometimes. So I am planning what all I am goin to do this next trip home. Hope to have the old girl on the road this year, even if it is Dec. and im driving around with no top/doors. I was planning on lining the inside of my tube with the Hurculiner but after feeling the texture on my rear bumper I started looking to other options. I have read some great reviews on Raptor Liner. After reading the threads on here and tons of other forums I have about decided to spray the inside of my jeep with the black Raptor Liner, and the outside with some that I tint OD green.

Nice job. Got any pics of the axle truss?

Thanks. No, I havent gotten any of it yet. I always mean to take pictures but always forget. I will take some when I get back to Ga.

Well since im out in Cali and my CJ is still in pieces in GA I went out today and bought this TJ so I would have something to play around in until I get back and get my CJ on the road. The PO put Rubicon stickers on it even though its a Sport model. Hopefully the paint hasnt faded any and I can get them off without leaving a ghost image of them.

When you say you over payed. What did you pay for it?

That's to bad:( If the axles where in good shape I would say that wasn't to bad.

Yeah, it wasnt killer bad. Just after i got it i found two more in better shape for less, but thatshhow things always seem to work out for me...lol:dunno:
