'83 CJ7, 258, D30, amc 20, D300, 4sp, '70 Z28, LSX, 6sp, 711 fwhp (N/A), 2015 2500 HD Duramax/Allison
Bought my first Jeep CJ7 a few months ago. Trying to get familiar with all of the different systems and 'things of interest' required to rebuild and maintain this machine.

My question: The previous owner gave me a "Jeep Technical Service Manual" about three inches thick, for a 1982 CJ7 . But the Jeep he sold me is an 83. Are these two years close enough in specs that I can use the older manual, or should I try and find one for an '83?

Thanks for the offer. As of now, nothing in particular. Just wanting to be prepared for what ever I might need. Right now i'm just replacing the steering column and suspension - looks pretty straightforward...

Yes sir amigo! Those Ididit columns are like gold. Don't want to be burning up one of them...
 
Should be the same. Minimal changes between 1982 AND 1983. If there are changes, they will be in the wiring diagram.
