First, I did not know if this is the right place for this thread.
The moderator can move it to the Right Place if needed.

Now All my other Travel/Exploring/Off Roading vehicles have CB radios.
At Off Road Parks, and traveling in a group, two way radios are a Must Have.

With Jeep Soup going on this Transmission Wisconsin Adventure Trail
Rallye come June, I wanted to put a CB in it.
First, I didn't want to mount it to the Dash, or anywhere to take away from the old military Jeep looks.
Second, Jeep Soup still has the Original 6 volt electrical system.

After a couple of Leines Long Necks in the Thinking Chair out in the shop, the Idea came to me.
(Thinking Chair is a Just about ready to set out at the curb Lazy Boy)

Make a Portable Radio case.

So, keeping in the Military theme,
Went through my NOS parts supply and came up with this STUFF.
STUFF is ;
Spectacular
Treasures
of
Uniquely
Fantastical
Finds
(or spelled :dung:)

While waiting for the parts to arrive, the plan is to Stuff everything inside this 50 cal ammo can. That way I can simply unhook the Coax Cable and remove it when I don't need it.

First made this Bracket from some scrap steel and rivet in place to Hold the 12 volt motorcycle battery.

Then cleaned up a old "Ball Antenna Base" from the NOS inventory.

The Mount arrived and we are going to change the orientation of how it is mounted to the side of Jeep Soup.

The original way it projects out over 8" from the side. Way too far and is going to catch everything including my Elbow when I come around the Jeep !
Turning it 90° it is only 5". I did add a 3/4" thick oak 5x5 spacer to let the Soft Top clear.
I drilled and installed a grommet for the Coax Cable in the Bracket.

The hole pattern is the same on both sides, so maybe they used it differently on other military vehicles.

Here it is installed.
Next is getting everything in the Ammo Can connected. I'm waiting on some Cabinet Connectors for the External Speaker and Head Set.
