If you cut out the extra stuff you could be on an adventure today. Lots of you may think you need a fully enclosed adventure truck with running water, beds, stove, toilette, etc, to go on an expedition, not true. You could go in your jeep, on stock tires, without a winch. Check out this guy Dan who is driving the length of the western continents in his Wrangler.
If you stay at home and save money for that gps, roof top tent, and all the high dollar wiz-bang stuff you'll still be at home working. If you just pack a sleeping bag, ground tent, and check all the basic stuff you could probably be out there seeing the world next week. There is a time and place for every upgrade, but don't get caught up in the upgrades and forget the adventure.
