junction block issue

<div class="bbWrapper">I have a 1972 cj5 and am looking at the wiring diagrams from this forum. It is great help but I have a question. What is the junction block used for? My wiring has everything going to the block attached to one sud and it has all kinds of wires atached there. Is it for grounding purposes? I have some wires marked &quot;ground&quot; going there. Any help is appreciated.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">A stud on the body or dash is going to be a ground stud.<br /> <br /> My 73 had the wiring harness going through a grommet in the firewall. 75s had a junction block at the firewall. <br /> <br /> A photo would help.</div>
