i have a 72 CJ5 and just finished a soa. Has anyone else ever done one and the front is a little bit shorter than the back? do u know how much more i need to lift the front? i was thinking 1 inch shackle lift outta do it.
1979 Jeep CJ5 with 304 V8, T18 Transmission, Dana 20 Transfer case with TeraLow 3:1 gears, 4.88 axle gears, Detroit Locker up front and Ox Locker in back with 1 piece axle shafts, 36" SuperSwamper SX Tires, Shackle reversal, MileMarker Hydraulic winch, MSD 6A ignition.
I assume it was level before the lift. The amount of lift you get from a SOA is equal to the spring pack plus the axle tube diameter. You could make that measurement or guesstimate from the slope of the body.
The front axle tube is just slightly smaller than the rear. I'm not sure about the spring packs. I have Scout springs up front.
it was idk why it isnt now. it is hard to determine, i think my best option is to just guess, there is not really nother method. i was hoping someone ran into the same problem and could tell me what lift they used.
