Key Switch/tumbler Removal

Helloto all.. New here but just curious how difficult is it to remove the key switch on my 83 CJ7 .. key switch just turn all the way and doesnt do anything but turn the electrical on..

Any and all help would be appreciated

It SOUNDS like you don't need to remove the cylinder in the column at all... check the actual switch first. It's down where you can get to it, under the dash, behind the column.

Naw I did remove (easy)and the plastic tumbler dohicky thingy behind key switch is in pretty bad shape.. Now the hunt for it ...

what I need is a lock sector I think its what they call it ...Havbing trouble finding it under that name...Its a plastic piece that the key switch slides over and it actually is what pushes the ignition rod forward and backwards
