Im rebuilding my Dana 30 , After replacing both ball joints (Dana Spicers 5-260-X) and torquing to the correct lbs. and tighting the lower first, etc. the knuckle is so hard to move. Im reading they might just need to be broken in, What do you guys think ? Thanks for your help. First time poster.

There is an adjuster sleeve that the upper ball joint goes into have you adjusted it per the FSM? You have to have the 4 prong socket to turn it

Upper ball joint split ring seat, if your knuckles are still tight after that I would say they just need to be broken in

Thats a great idea, I did torq them to specs. Yes I will ease the tapered nut. Thanks

Don't forget, if the knuckles are difficult to turn your CJ may not RTC (return to center) as tire fiction may not be able to overcome the knuckle fiction.
