Fall Crawl,
I know its still summer, but it's always been called Fall Crawl. Its a fund raiser for land acquisition for all the local clubs to use. We passed papers on a nice piece of property in Ma earlier this year

That would yanked my pucker string pretty good
LOL. I gotta get my sea legs back.......

Awesome pics though...

Yes that truck is cool ! That place looks like it is very hard on vehicles

I was thinking the same thing. Lot's of beauty marks were made that day.

It is, I wheeled 14-16 days in CO/UT this year and put in about the same amount of days wheeling in New England. The first time out wheeling after a trip out west the first thing I noticed is how hard it is on the rigs wheeling on this terrain. A lot of under carriage metal bashing. Out west you crawl, no such thing in New England unless we have a long dry spell. On this particular trail to run greens you need 33" tires and F&R lockers.

At this event I noticed a Moab sticker on a CJ so I went over to chat with the owner. He had wheeled in Moab and we talked about how sticky the rocks were there. His passenger turns out to have lived in Moab and moved to New England a few years ago. I asked him his take on New England wheeling. He told me the first steep rock climb he encountered he looked at and thought to himself, pfft, that's nothing...easy peasy. He said he didn't come close to making it up the rock, nothing like back home.

On the flip side the first steep climb I came on in Moab (and being accustom to New England wheeling) I had doubts if my CJ could make it up...I tired it and walked right up. The rocks are like sand paper in Moab, the rocks are like a bar of soap in New England, and more times then not you have mud on your tires so it would be a wet bar of soap.

I enjoy wheeling in CO, UT, and New England all three have different challenges. I would really like to wheel the Rubicon!

That's good to hear. Even in NC, if we get a dry spell, trails get relatively easy. A little bit of rain and it's like a whole different trail. Even though the rocks dry out pretty fast, the mud on your tires makes traction a challenge.

Posi thanks for the report. Been to Moab once. In one word. Beautiful !

Posi-The Rubi rocks can at times, act like anything from marbles to bowling balls.
:D

After you get past the 'Gate Keeper', you'll see 'Chicken Rock'. If it's dry-eazy to climb. If wet, will be a challenge.
You'll do fine :chug:
A winch is a very good thing on the Rubi to have.

Moss and pine needles add to the fun as well. In the fall all the needles drop and they have more slip to them then mud. Kinda like needle bearings. :D
