I need one of these. Had to torch one out when we did lift over weekend. We found a replacement the right size but were not sure of the grade so i want to get a proper grade 8 bolt. We installed it so we could put jeep down to move it. I found this online.
1976-1986 Jeep CJ7 Leaf Spring Eye Bolt - Omix - Front Or Rear

But i'm not paying that much. I would actually like to replace all four while i have access to my buddys car lift and the jeep is still there. I am going outta town this week so was gonna call my contact at the fastenal i use for work and have them delivered so they'll be at office when i get back. Does anyone know the diameter and length i need?

Hi. I made my own. This can be done pretty easy. And you can usually find the correct bolts from your local hardware store. Grade 8 fine thread then grind the head closer to round until it fits in the perch perfect, then same for the leaf plate. Just an option. Good luck.

Why would you round off spring eye bolts? They do that by themselves when you try to remove them. Thats prob why he cut it off.

I'd go to a tractor supply store (TSC) and get them. Spring eye bolts usually have a little ridge right below the hex head to lock them into the shackle or hanger.

Wow - $12.73 x 12? My goodness. Bend me over.

Grade 8 and locknuts.

How can people even think of selling a $.75 bolt for $12.73? They should be ashamed!

Who in their right mind would spend that?

If you have a Tractor Supply near you, all their hardware is sold by the pound - great deals can be had for a great cost if you can find the hardware... :)

Do you guys know for sure tractor supply has them? I found out they are 9/16 and i think 5" long. Have searched the hardware stores for them but no one carries that strange size. Fastenal has them i found and they are still 11$ a bolt!!

Not sure on your Tractor Supply, different ones carry a different assortment of hardware. The only way to tell is to check them out.

Thanks for the help everyone. Believe it or not i found them a Lowes. Almost 3$ a bolt but completely fine with that price. The proper length is 4.5" and they are 9/16 for anyone wanting to know.

The ones in the hanger is 9/16"-12 x 4 1/2" while the shackle bolts are 1/2"-13 x 4 1/2". The 9/16" bolts are more an automotive bolt then the standard bolt you find at TSC or other bulk suppliers. You did good finding them at Lowe's.
