I am in the process of installing LED flush mount tail lights. The PO had some mismatched trailer lights mounted. So my wiring is a guessing game but I have managed to get my brake lights, turn signals and running lights to work. I replaced the flasher with a Poison Spider LED two pin flasher.

My issue is that with the running lights on, turn signal nor the brake lights over-ride the runners. What am I missing????:(

once I get them mounted I will put up some pictures.:cool:

Solved this one myself. the back of the light was not labeled correctly. I went out in the dark and I realized how bright the running lights were. Well that's because it was it was backwards and was a easy fix.

Industry standard for LED wiring is:

White wire = ground

Black wire = tail/running lights

Red = stop/turn signal lights

Using your existing wiring, find each appropriate wire on the Jeep from your old lights and label or write down the color of the wire. If it was formerly a turn signal wire, then it would go to the RED wire on the LED light. Tail light goes to the BLACK wire. The WHITE wire on the LED is ALWAYS the ground wire. Ground the LEDs good, to the body or even better, run a ground wire to a known good ground point on the frame or body.

Hope this helps... :chug:

yeah wasn't sure on the wire color coming off of the light. they had it labeled, it just was not right or I just didn't understand it. Thanks for the tips though.

Do these lights have the reverse lamps in them too?
