OK so the CJ7 is home and beggin for a lift.

I am just going to do 2 or 3 inch springs and shocks.

Just wondering if I could get some input on what you guys think is a good one and which you would not use.

I have used Pro comp in the past and also had a ruff country.

Any input on what you guys would recomend?

How about shocks?

I have had Rancho RS5000's (long ago) and Bilstein 5150's on my last CJ5

So how about some input?

Thanks all

Yes I searched and saw that thread.

I was hopeing to get some more yeahs or neys type thing.

I am surprised there were not more answers to your thread.

I know I was hoping there would be too...

So what exactly are you looking for?

Soft ride, Cheapest, max flex, best lift, high tire clearance etc.

Well

I liked the pro comp but in all honesty not really sure if there is a huge difference in the 500.00 kit and the 800.00 kit. Is there a difference?

I liked the Bilsteins but not sure they were a lot diferent then any other shock.

Most of my time is light to medium duty off road stuff snow mudd sand.

Not looking to do anything extreme looking for a good ride and decent off road performance.

None of the other kits I have had seemed to have any issues but I was trying to get a larger group of opinions on what I should do.

I really was looking into the pro comp too. They looked nice. Only difference i seen between the kits (i assume the same ones you were looking at just different years) was the shock types.

You would probably be fine with the cheaper one.

Though i don't know much about shocks.

I think I decided on OME when I get the cash though...

According to what I've read they are pretty much the top of the line.

The only draw back for me, was I was really looking for a 2.5" max lift, seems the kit I want will give me a total of 3.5"...

I want to keep my COG (center of gravity) down low as possible, plan on keeping with my 33" tire size. Right now I fit them on stock height springs with a shackle lift the PO put on, I hate shackle lift though... so I think with 2.5 or especially 3.5" I can go to standard height shackles, gain stability, and if necessary wither a small body lift (don't want to) or what I'll most likely end up doing is trimming out wheel wells.

Here's a couple links to what I was looking at. Pricy, but looks really good...

YJ Wrangler spring conversion kit for Jeep CJ, 1976 and newer

I'm planning on saving for that. (only My year kit, which is different, that should be more for your year I just posted...
