I have a set of 4 inch lift springs on my 86 CJ7 . I'm trying to figure out what they are and if they are a good spring. They have the nylon pads to cut down on friction but they are really stiff so far they only have 100 or so miles on them is what I was told from the PO. I will have picture up later tonight.

OME used yellow pads between the springs.

The main concern is the spring rate. How many pounds to depress the spring 1". Most cj springs are around 200-265 #/". A couple of ways to measure. If the spring is off the truck, flip it upside down measure the height of the arch. Have a 200-250 buddy stand on it and remeasure. Pounds/ inch deflection

If on the vehicle, use a jack and bathroom scale. Measure then jack it one inch. Read the scale.

I had a 4" trailMaster lift. :( When I sold it I found out the spring rate was 550#/". It rode like a tank No wonder I cracked my frame at 3 spring perches. OME is about 230 and the axles actually go up and down now. TrailMaster would not even honor their "lifetime" warranty on the shocks. I even had the receipt.

I'm not sure what color they are they have paint over them might have to scratch that off.

Wasn't able to put pictures on last night but I did find out what brand my springs are. Pulled the U bolts off one side there was a skyjacker sticker on them. Who is running a skyjacker lift kit?
