78 CJ5..258 T150 Dana 20..wide track axles..ps no pb..all stock suspension..31x10.5...previous 76 cj5, 80 cj7,03 TJ ..
im undecided what lift to go with, i used a R.E lift 3.5"on my TJ, with 33's, 2.5 rancho on my previous CJ5 with 33's, would of liked an extra inch though, 33's with rearched springs on my CJ7 and now my new CJ5 im undecided, i would like a comfortable ride ( as much as possible lol), im hearing mixed reviews on doing the YJ springs up front..some say more comfy some say pretty hard to tell the difference. i dont want to cut the saddles to rotate the diffs, and im still contemplating running 35's instead of 33's. Ive seen a CJ5 with 35's with a 4 inch skyjacker lift and it sat nice. So whats everyone think?? Want to stay spring under though. There is such a difference in lift kit prices up here in Canada from around 400 to 1500... i dont mind a very small 1 inch body lift or slight lift shackles as well like .5 inch..

ohh and when buying a lift do i buy for the 78? or for the later yeared widetrack diffs?

late 70s and 80 CJ's have the same positioned frame spring hangers ( 5 or 7) 78 will do.

BDS springs, other will chime in with their opinions

Ohh cause i noticed when you order they ask if its pre or post 83..if i remember correctly this may have to do with shock mounting?

Order for a 78 as I mentioned. A CJ frame has different frame shock mount heights (72-75) (76-82) (83-86) yours is a 78 and the WT axles has no affect on ordering a kit.

wow lots of advice on this site
