Hey guys...I've narrowed down that I'm going to get a 2.5" lift and run with 33x12.5x15 tires. I've heard much that not all lifts are the same regarding what they equate to in height. I'm interested in the Rough Country 2.5" and the Rancho 2.5"...but open to other option. My question is...will they result in the same height? I've heard that some 2.5" lifts are actually closer to 3"...some are actually closer to 2"? Just wondering about the consistency between different lifts. If I get a 2.5" lift...regardless of brand, would the heights be consistent? If anyone has any pictures of the 2.5" lift with 33" tires, I'd love to see them and what lift you have. Also...on a side...if I want the tires to ride about flush with the stock fender flares (77 CJ5 )...would I need an 8" wheel...10" wheel? I appreciate any feedback you guys can give. thanks as always.

Each Jeep weighs a little more or less depending on motor, driveline, and top options. Lift companies have to find a happy medium so they state that you may get a little less or a little more. My Jeep is fiberglass on top of that so it would lift me more than your if it is metal.

I wouldn't run 33s with a 2.5. I have a 4 inch lift with 33 and I still rub. Also, lifts are definitely not all created equal in terms of height. My budy has a skyjacker 4 inch lift and it is much lower than my rough country lift. Almost lift if mine was actually 5 and his is a 3. Big difference. I would also run a 8 inch wheel.

Thanks alot for the information...yes...I have a steel body. Any steel bodies running 2.5" lift and 33's out there that is willing to post some pics and give some thoughts? thanks.

I have a 4" lift with a 1" body lift and 33's that only measure 31 3/4.
They only miss rubbing in the back by 1/4" or so when flexed, they will rub if it's flexed and you hit a bump.
If you go 2 1/2" lift expect to do some fenderwell trimming.

Regular street/highway driving...and very mild off road...due you feel that the 2.5" lift with 33's will cause some issues? thanks.

You need a 4in lift for those tires. I run a 2 1/2 rough country and 2in body lift. I will try to post pictures if any one can tell me how to do it. And if you look at any chart in a magazine it will tell you 2 1/2 is not big enough
