Starting build on 1979 CJ-7
1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hi everyone, I just joined this site because after MANY years of no time, I am finally starting to rebuild my 79 CJ7 . In 1995 I was tired of replacing rusted out body panels. I had already replaced the frame with a 1983 and it's 20 gal plastic tank. So I bought a fiberglass tub with the tailgate opening and a one piece nose from 4WD hardware. I also bought a Mile-Marker 4X2 conversion with 16%OD and locking hubs. Then Life intervened. I got into a serious motorcycle accident. After recovering(~1yr)
My wife was diagnosed with Cancer. Well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. She has been cancer free for 13 years now. I finally can afford to
make this jeep mine. In the meantime the frame managed to rot away.
So now I plan on buying a Throttle down customs frame from Quadratec.
I will post my progress. My first job is to install the Transfer Case kit. I opened the box for the first time and no install instructions. Is this install that easy? Thanks for any replies.:D

Congratulations on finally starting your rebuild. Sounds like life kept you um, busy for awhile, but that's the beauty of owning a CJ. It will help distract you from the realities of life when you need it too, and of course, the projects NEVER ever done!

Post some pictures of the progress, will be looking forward to seeing the jeep come together. :)
