Hi guys,

I'm looking for a new P/S box for my 85 CJ7. Summit has a Lares rebuilt unit for $205.00 and I've heard good things about Lares. To jump up to a new one is considerably more which I would do if you all said rebuilt's are not good, but I haven't heard that. I'm not looking to rebuild it.

I've also heard about this Hummer direct fit unit. Is that true? Is there a part number to reference?

Any suggestions would be great if you have part numbers even better. Thanks for the help.

Napa would be my first stop. Rockauto has a Lares rebuilt for $70 and new for $115

The Hummer H1 box is a Cardone part # 27-7595 box is a near exact drop in.

I just bought this OEM replacement from amazon a couple months ago, sounds like I may have overpaid based on the above :( Looked back at my order and it was $330CAD.

I have no use for this unit. I think I got it at Autozone several years ago. I believe it’s the Dakota one and is a four bolt mount. Open box but still sealed in plastic wrap.IMG_3175.jpeg
