i just went out to put a new upper and lower radiator hoses on. went to fill it up with fluid and right where the upper hose goes into the radiator tore. i dont have to money for a new one :( so it looks like the jeep will be sitting all summer dang it.

Silver solder and a torch?

Used that on a radiator once. Sold the car five years later without a leak the whole time. The next owner used it as a trade in after 4 more good years. It works if you clean it up good and take your time.

not sure. i fixed a water pipe with the stuff called amazing puddy and it worked in the house. so i put some of that on it and waiting for it to dry. it is a 31 year old radiator so it doesnt surprize me it did it. yes im mad but i knew it was going to go sometime so im not as mad as say if it was my daily drive.

Bummer. Thats a long time to shelve a jeep for a radiator though. Try something like I did with the Salvage CJ7 and give up a cup of coffee everyday or something like that. Put that and your pocket change aside. You'll be up and running by say July 4th??

thanks pete. but with two kids its hard to save money lol.

Midnight raid on the local junkyard, LOL.

I scuffed one with a wire brush and used JBWeld and it
was still in the jeep when I sold it with no leaks.
But if it's a small or hairline type :dung: solder is the way to go,
local radiator shops will do it for almost nothing. Also some welding
shops, possibly a plumber is he's an older type.

the putty didnt work. off to find a cheap used one i guess.

i can get one at work for $192 plus my 20% off i just dont have that kind of money. wish i did cause our radiators have a lifetime replacement.

Punish yourself and stay away from one Nascar Race. Then you'll have the funds.Tell the kids Jeep ride or Nascar. You'll probably be going to the races.
