I am fixing to order new wheels for my CJ7 . What I am not sure of is how do I tell that the wheels will actually fit on my stock hub? All the pictures online show a closed center. Does that mean the wheels come with center caps that fit over the locker in front or do I need to by locker caps separately?

I am certain I am not the only person to ever buy new wheels for a CJ just not sure if I am getting the right thing.

My CJ still has the stock Dana 30 front and AMC20 rear 2-piece axles although I will be upgrading the rear to one-piece in the spring. I have 30x9.5x15 tires on 15x7 wheels right now and that is the wheel and tire size I want to stick with.

These are the wheels I am looking at getting: https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/brw-942575537/overview/year/1981/make/jeep/model/cj7/

Those wheels will fit. They are the correct bolt hole and center hole size.

The center caps are generally optional. For the front they may be available in an 'open' design, which allows for access to the locking hub.

I have Eagle Alloy 589's on my 76 CJ5 with center caps:

Yes those do come with a center cap, it's listed in the specs for the wheel. I like that they have a matte finish, they should look good. Bolt pattern and backspacing are important specs to ensure they will fit and both are good for the CJ.

I just left the front caps off when i put new wheels on. You can also cut the tops off the caps for access to the locker.

Good to go. I've got the Dana 30 front axle and went with the following:

Bolt Pattern 5 on 5.5
Backspace: 3.75"
Bore: 4.25"

I left the caps off as well.
