With Memorial weekend quickly approaching, I already have a lot of people on my mind....Military, family, friends who have all passed on. And of those, I can't help but really think about the Jeeping friends I have known over the years that have passed on. There has been a few, some I have known in cyber-land, some I have actually had the privilege to wheel with. Every one of them stung in it's own way, whether taken while doing what they loved, or it was just their time and they didn't make it to morning coffee.

So first, I ask that you use this post to remember those that share our hobby, those that hit their last trail ride.

And any members of this board that have been lost, please post them also.

and with that, Rest In Peace Mac. (dirtroad.com) You have been missed and will continue to be.

Took my Mom on several runs. Lost her in '95 to that :censored:'C' thing(third go around for her).

My mom was a WAVES in WWII. She passed on New Year's Day 2000, at the age of 77, after suffering from a number of ailments. She only rode on my Harley once: Sturgis 1994. Hope she remembers it. I do.

My heart and thoughts go out to all my brothers in arms that lost their lives during my time in service.

I was especially honored to be able to escort one of my soldiers home and see to that she was properly and respectfully laid to rest.

God Bless our Fallen Heroes. :patriot:

Yes, a lot has been sacrificed so we can live the way we do and it is great to have Memorial Day to think of it all.

I think you have said it all and I hope all our Vets out there have a great weekend and thanks for your service.

Memorial day, a misunderstood holiday. 4 years ago my x-wife had me over for a memorial day calibration. Her friend Ed was there, we were the only Veterans in the group so they started thanking us for our service. I said thank you, but respectfully noted that memorial day wasn't about us, we came home. It is for those that didn't. That was all, I spoke in a calm level voice..... From that day forward I have been shunned. I am not allowed in the same room with her and the family spends all holidays with her. Surprisingly enough, Ed knew exactly what I was talking about, it has been my experience that nobody spoke up to Carol, EVER. So the family spends their time avoiding any sort of confrontation where I had the unfortunate tendency to look her in the eye.
So, if you are a family member or know a family member that came me in a flag covered casket or is laying in the ground in a far off country, stop and thank them for the service of the one they lost. .......... To those lost, Thank you!
