Recent hurricane here in Houston. Poor soul on TV complaining during the week-long power outage that he could not drive to a gas station to get fuel for his generator and save the food in his fridge because his electric car was out of juice and couldn't be charged. Another poor lady complaining that the $40K of solar panels on her roof weren't supply power to her house while the utility service was out. She didn't understand the need for battery backup and an inverter for a true stand-alone system - and the double cost that would have been.

Meanwhile my Generac running on propane kept us going all week with well pump, lights, appliances, even the AC, all working fine. No EV for me.
