met a fellow jeep owner

As some of you may know I work at an O'reilly. Yesterday a really nice 79 jeep was outside. I asked who's it was and an elderly man spoke up. He looked to be in his late 60's. It's a 79 CJ5 with a 401! The gentman who owned it was a trip! He just had to giggle when he talked about the power it had with that 401 in it.

He says he's starting on an 80 already.

People talk all the time about how Jeeps aren't meant to go fast but I tell you what. there is nothing more fun then pulling away from a stop and just blasting every car near you in an old Jeep, or just out accelerating a fast car on the highway. Even if you cannot hit a crazy top speed like them they still are surprised when you pull on them from 60 to 80.

Yep. I love my 401...for all the reasons stated plus the fact I can idle over anything at 800rpms and stay off the throttle.

Thank you. I wanted to stray slightly from the factory color
Because, well, the engine is no where near factory spec

Ever since Ive seen CJim7s avatar Ive wanted to change the color of the $600 Salvage 7. I just dont know what color to paint the motor now.

Pete, I didnt have any idea what color I wanted to go with either...
I cruised down the paint aisle at Schucks Auto and they had so many different colors of engine enamel (Duplicolor) and I never even considered green until I saw it and it reminded me of my favorite soda (Mountain dew) lol and I knew I had to have it

Since you run propane, I thought it was due to your environmental awareness and all.
