Ok. Puting a 4" lift on '79 CJ7 . Got tha back almost done but need info on these rear shackles install. I have them on. I'm trying to figure out how tight they need to be. This shackle are the greasable with the center solid spacer. There was no install instructions so I used the trail master instructions and it calls for fron and rear springs bolts tightened to 80 ft lbs. I started to do this to the rear MORE shackle and it started to bend inwards so I stopped and backed off. I just tightened the top and bottom bolt to the point where the shackle side just started inwards. Is this enough? If I go to the 80 ft lbs it'll ruin the shackles I'm sure. Anyone run these that could give me some advice on the tightening of the shackles?

See my answer in your "Bigger Tire Speedometer..." thread. Remember, don't over think the shackles. I made my own, its not rocket science.
