More shackle questions...

As some might know here trying to get my CJ7 from wandering. Suggestions here are to go back to stock shackles instead of shims at the leaf springs. Question here most of the heavy duty shackles or better ones on the market are one half inch taller or more . Will one half inch effect caster? Also I have a old Rugged Trail Spring lift which is not in business anymore. Can I replace the spring bushings with OEM bushings or any aftermarket bushings work? Appreciate any and all info.....

How big are you shackles right now? I went with heavy duty shackles when I lifted my jeep. The smallest I could go were 3/8 inch heavy duty shackles.

If you have wandering, it could be from having some toe-out on the front alignment. This can be checked with a tape measure.

i've been looking at MORE shackles...belive they are stock lenth...and seemed to be the only ones that were 3/8" side plates...which was recommended to me...but are $$$

I went with these.
Jeep Lift Shackles

I like them and the price was great. I got greaseable bolts from daystar for them. Heavy duty and they work great. Shackles are pretty simple. I wasn't about to pay AMC 150 bucks for a set.

I don't have any good pictures of them up close. I definitely wouldn't try to get anything smaller though. Any smaller and my springs wouldnt have fit.

Warrior Products shackles have 3/8"x2" side plates and have parallel welded sides with a block between, not just sides with bolts between. Some of them for older Jeep's that have 1 3/4" springs have 1/4" sides.

The .5" length question? .5" shackle lift = .25" overall lift, a negligible castor change.

No, half an inch won't hurt you.
You will need to buy the aftermarket polly ones that are flat on the end.
