86 CJ7. Everything is stock really. I'm riding on BF Goodrich 31's but that's about it. It was given to me on my birthday, my first car, and ive been building on it ever since. Its come a LONG way.
Sorry to beat a dead horse guys, but I've read through other SOA threads and I'm just not sold yet. I got this jeep for my birthday and now I'm ready to size up! I found a 4 inch lift for about $450 but I've seen SOA's and I want more lift and flex that they would offer. I figured I'll use my stock springs and buy new u-bolts, perches, and shocks. I heard that I probably wouldn't need a drop pitman arm. I drive my jeep to school everyday and take it out about once every 3 months. (I know.. sad.. I'm a busy dude..) So I want some good ride and awesome lift. I have some mechanic experience but I'm 17, so take it easy on me. I've seen people say that a bad SOA is deadly, I'm not sure how but I don't want to die anytime soon, I'm just a boy with a Jeep. I want it to be badass. So help me out!

IMHO I would use the 4" sua lift you have and run 33's and call it good.

SOA is not as easy as just changing perches, and shocks. The biggest part is making the steering right. It's also going to get you a lot of lift which is going to make you want bigger tires which will lead to an empty wallet for many years to come.

If you're wanting some more flex and lift try replacing your stock springs with the yj front conversion and new rear wires springs. Throw on a body lift…. I think 1.5" with 4"SUA , shackles will gain a little , keep with the 1/2" on those…. Lots of left and new hardware will flex and handle better… imo
