Hi Guys

Thought i'd report back on my 1st week driving my CJ7 all week to and from work.
After a couple of days i got used to the handling. I think i need some work done to the front steering, but she did pass her MOT test so everything should be ok.
Folding the softop down every day is a pain, but again getting used to it.( we have had a great week weather wise so the roof must come off :D )
I'm not sure what MPG i'm getting but i drive around 24miles round trip and i put in about 6 gals and didn't run out. My fuel gauge is still erratic. i think i need to drop the tank and check the sender, but as the temp gauge still doesn't work after stripping it out yesterday i may need to source a new cluster.

All in all i'm Loving it. Everyone looks at her when i'm driving as you just don't see any CJ-s about. i have seen a newer black on but thats it.
Had 1 guy asking to buy her already. NO WAY!
Wifey now likes her but my kids think it's embaresing (what do they know)

End of may i'm off with the local Landrover series 2 club on a off road weekend ( even the landrover boys like her and they don't do anything non Landrover ) Should be fun.

Speak Soon.

p.s is it normal when you get your 1st CJ to still have a big grin on your face a month after, and wake up every morning excited to go to work as you get to drive her? I'm finding it a exciting experiance, and not the normal boring commute.

Mort we have a Saying over here
It is a Jeep thing, you would not understand.
You described what it feels like to the end, big grin, excitement, etc.
And owning a CJ that runs good and you keep it up, increases that feeling 1000 fold. There is nothing that makes a man prouder than driving what his handy work keeps up. Let the children not understand.
I think it is so cool you got past those MOT test, when you posted them my heart hit my stomach with what they wanted you to get a antique vehicle standards up to. You see we have the luxury to be able to work on them for a few years, you guys have a rough test it has to pass, But then I think I can see why they do it, it just keeps the POS's off the road.
Hey, when you go out with the series 2 club, let them know you have a buddy over here who is a big fan so you need a lot of pics of their rigs and custom mods to post up.
We have so few of those over here, and even a back yard ornament commands a pricey sum to get it moved to your back yard. They are great rigs so I know you will be in good company.
