Literally. My horn has never worked and i've never taken the time to trouble shoot it. I figured it was the relay or a wire off or broken in an inaccessible place.
Today while coming up my very steep driveway the horn button came off.........again. It does it every now and then and always falls in my lap. I got to the house and this time I POUNDED it back on and lo and behold.......it blew!!
I tried again but couldn't get so much as a toot out of it, but now I knew there was hope.
I took the button back off, removed the three screws, and took the nut holding the steering wheel on. That sucker was on there by the way, took an impact wrench to break it loose. That gave me access to that thin metal thingie, took it off gave it a polish with some sand paper, reassembled and tada horn now works!!
