Need a little bit of help Pics, and Questions.

Here are some pics of the shaft itself see anything I can do with them? I just bought new Ujoints for them. In the third pic. below my hand I believe it connects to the bar coming from the steering wheel is loose would this be a problem? I have another pic if you can reconize it in there. Also when I turn sometimes I here a huge kind of knocking thumping noise from the steering anyone know what that could be? And in the last pic I think this has something to do with the clutch not exactly sure though.

I beleive the thumping could be the u joints in the the front axle, Its similiar to todays cars with cv joints. Its just my guess thou. Are you trying to remove the u joints in the drive shaft? If so, cant you just remove the rear bolts and the caps will come off, then replace as usual.

Yea, I bought new ujoints but have not replaced them yet. I'm just curious of some of the other stuff in the pics. Just so I know what exactly to do.
