Wanting to add half-doors to my 1980 CJ7 . It obviously did not come equipped with door posts. There are two types available as pictured below. The other pictures show what the tub-door interface looks like on my '80. Doesn't appear that either post is the right solution. If anyone has experience with this, I would greatly appreciate some advice on how to make this modification. Any pictures you can include will help a lot.

I was totally not aware that CJ7 tubs have different door bracing on them. If you look at the attached pic the inside of my tub has a spot welded in C channel reinforcement at the back of the door opening that goes from the floor to the top of the tub which the later style door striker is bolted to. It looks like you need to do some fab work to get your new door to work with the new style striker  Jeep changed the door striker style some where around 1982ish they went from the rotary door handle to the paddle, looks like they did it to accommodate the new door brace pm me if you want a larger copy of pic

They switched to the type 2 doors (picture 1) in mid 1981, my July 1981 Laredo has both types. Either fab in the 2 pieces or get a pair from Classic Enterprises at ClassicEnt.com 715-537-5422.
