:)I think answered this once before......If the Buick donor has a V6 or V8 with power steering then get the power steering pump , mounts and pulley's off the water pump and crank.

The steering gear you need is a Saginaw 800.......this will have a four bolt mount. This is the same gear that AMC/Jeep used from the late 70's throughout the 80's......on all the CJ's.
I would suggest that you buy a reconditioned gear from someone that knows what there doing like Tom Lee steering in So Cal. This insures that you will get the performance you want that is not junk yard used & worn out.....the donor used pump will also need a rebuild..........the frame horn on the drivers side will have to be modified in order to accept the gear. The old column will have to be modified as well as the steering shaft from the column to the gear box and also the tie rod and drag link.........not hard but there are several things you have to wrap your arms around to complete the project. Advanced adapters sells a kit with the mounts and frame plates........but you can build them yourself.............go on the EarlyCJ5 website and look under forums and builds and there is a complete section showing how others including mine were installed.

Here is a few photo's of the gearbox on my 65 CJ once installed.

wow.... didn't realize that my steering column are attached to the shaft ((( shorting the shaft prox 16" inch with adjustable shaft to fit in the new power steering gearbox. It took all day to make it fit, just hoping its going to work out.
"Its fun building" however a lot more difficult than I anticipated.....

Next post , Helps if your pictures are orientated correctly for viewing......What ever the prior owner did to install these shafts before would be unknown to anyone here..........If your not going to use the junk again, just cut it out.
Post some better pictures and will try to help.

OK............Are you just going to drive this on the street? No big tires or off road in the mud? No highway driving?

If you see much freeway driving the little short 81" wheelbase Jeeps have a history of hunting around in the lanes at speed........most like to use a variable ratio gear box series 800 like the rebuilt one you have found....... whereby the box is slow in motion when pointed straight ahead and becomes faster out at the ends when turning L or R.
This of course means that going down the freeway slight motions by your hand on the wheel do not transmit a quick reaction to the gear box and front wheels........that makes these old Jeeps interesting to drive at speed, this is how most new cars are.

Big tires and off road the stock pump will be over taxed....the good re-builders turn up the pressure some that helps that issue.

Choices?
