The Jeep was totally gone thru, 124k original miles on body,
New Crate engine and Trans, Weber Carb, Interior replaced back to stock, Dana 44 Rear, Dana 35 Front, 2.5 " Suspension Lift 1" body 33-12.50 Tires on Mickey Thompson Wheels, New Dupont Paint
I know it sounds simple but , ive called around and even called dupont waiting on a call from them, i got a piece on the CJ needing repainting and want it done back in same paint color ec that it was done it,
it was just fully painted like 6 mo ago but the previous owner painted it,
and ive had extremely bad luck with we will match your paint no problem, i got hit in my new lexus a few years back and the front bumper was about 4 shades the wrong color, the body shop owner and my dad were friends and he said oh it just a shadow so i moved it twice then pulled in his garage under the fluorescents and it was more obvious and I said you are a painter you shold have noticed it way before me and he was like the ins just had bumper on the estimate and we would have had to paint so much more to blend it and I was like call him and explain and he said if there was an issue he would cover the difference, It was a nightmare,
So I got a guy fixing my jeep and I need a place to buy some base coat clear coat dupont paint, I got a bus license if it is required,
anyone can help me out Ill owe you one

Cars come out of the factory with many shades of the same color.Paint manufacturers generally have chips and formulas for known variants. Some colors have a dozen or more known variants of the supposed same color. If a shop doesn't mix their own paint they will often just order the 'standard' which may only match 10% of toyotas or whatever made in that color. When you look at a book of variant chips its amazing how far some cars can depart from the standard and each other when they all list the same code.

If the po painted the whole car he likely just went with the 'standard formula' listed for that color. The 'standard formulas' generally don't vary much between manufacturers.Even if you use the same brand paint with the same formula there is no sure guarantee that whoever mixed it the first time did it exactly right.....or will this time.

any way you can find the PO and ask where he bought the paint?

I am working on it
I can get ahold of the PO, but he is out of state currently on a construction job,
Im going to try n get him on his cell and get him to call his body shop and get it ordered for me,
But if I could get it on my own that would be great as well,
thx,
guys
