Considering the BDS 2.5” lift w/ nitro shocks but concerned with eng weight. I also like the OME 2” lift but it is double the price of the BDS. Thoughts and advice welcomed. The jeep gets a little squirrely under power. I recently added power steering and that helped a lot. I think dropping her down with a new lift should make her even more manageable along with a new BDS nitro steering dampener
thanks in advance

The OME lift is actually a YJ spring conversion and is a great change. @Manic Mechanic is starting one soon. Here is a link to the post where he received the kit. Scroll up to read about how he arrived at his choice and down to see the kit as it arrived.

If you go with a standard kit (any manufacturer) you will have the same ride quality that you have now, but that is OK.
The BDS kit is good...
Your concern about weight is understandable but not needed. CJs came with v8s from the factory which is only slightly heavier than the i6.

Mine is just waiting it's turn on the lift I have everything needed

My concern with the 400 is they have Siamese heads and tend to run hot. If you plan to wheel with it you may want to consider a major cooling overhaul

So many non Chevy people would not understand what the heck you just typed! :chug:
Put the crank in a .030 over 350 for a 383 stroker. :tu:

That is a lot of engine to stuff into the front of a YJ or CJ.

That 455 was punched out to 462 ci I've seriously considered doing that to mine TBH

I just swapped my Nitro shocks for Hydro's... MUCH better ride, but then--I didn't need gas pressure to hold a massive V8 off the ground either!
