I just bought to new bestop seats and installed them and they sit way higher than my old worn out seats I'm tall and was wondering if any one knows of any company who makes a lowering mounting bracket or something like that thanks for the help.

I tend to think this is an issue with all taller CJ owners. I am 6'1" and have after market seats and my legs have approx 2 inches wiggle room from hitting the steering wheel. To the best of my knowledge there isn't a quick solution to this. I have heard that getting the current seat mounts chopped and welded is one solution or to have some new mounts fabbed.
If you come up with something, please share because I am sure many of us CJ owners will appreciate any help with this on going issue.....

Although the seat foam will settle down a little bit with time, you may also choose to remove the slider and mount the seat directly on the base.

gillmore, thats exactly what i did. it lowers it about an inch. im 6 foot 3 and need all the headroom in a CJ5

Thanks for the help I will try removing the slides that sounds like the quickest and most simple way thanks again.

I bought a padded steering wheel at "Auto Zone" with a flat bottom.
Now I just lock my wheels straight when I park & I'm set.
I didn't like the wheel the PO had in it anyway.

What My problem is, has more to do with my head sticking just a tad too high so during a roll, I'm afraid my heads going to smack the roll bar side...

Not sure if you're having the same issue? Post some pics when you're done with the mod  Was wondering how much of a difference taking out the Sliders would make..

I'm still thinking I'll do something eventually like that link / thread I posted, and add in a center console, but in the mean-time if this will work out I can wait until I get my new seats :D

lol... Going to try my hardest not to... :D

But remember I am, relatively anyways, still quite young, and if knowledge and experience comes with age, I still got a ways to go ;)

Plus this is my first "real" 4x4

with a CJ8 you can move the front seat all the way to the back, giving you nearly unlimited leg room if you so desire.

If you don't have a tilt wheel, I recommend it very much. I got mine from a 97 Cherokee.
took a bit of creativity but for the most part it was plug and play. even got high beam and wipers on the column out of the deal.:D
You can spend big bucks on after market columns but it will be the same GM wheel you find in the Cherokee and you get a wheel that has JEEP on it. The most expensive part is having it re keyed. I got mine right after "cash for clunkers " and luckily found one with a key still in it.
