Well I might be a little on the redneck side since I've been driving 4x4 pick-up trucks since 1976 and they have always had some type of mud terrain tires on them. I finally decided that my current truck does more on road than off and it needed some new tires. I went out yesterday (sat) and got a new set of Toyo open country AT's put on it. All I can say is what a difference from my wore out buckshot mudders. It feels like I went from work boots to a pair of sneakers. The wife went with and on the way back even she was saying how quiet and smoth the ride was. I was hoping it would make for a more enjoyable ride while towing the jeep around, and now I'm sure it will.

I am interested in how those wear for you, Old Dog. A friend has them on his f250 diesel, and he seems less than impressed with them.

They should hold up to the towing pretty well, they get high remarks.

I think for me, I will be getting the Genereal HTS, more of an on road tire, but it is my dd and never goes off road. Mainly worry about snow traction and longevity over the offroad aspects

CJK, What doesn't you friend like about them?
I bought them mainly because of two people I know that both liked them well enough to buy a 2nd set.

I have them on my 05 colorado 4x4 with 36k so far. I have mixed feelings about them. At first I thought they had great traction for icy/snowy roads but as they wore on now they slide alot in the rain to the point were I plan on replacing them early. They do wear slowly though because they have alot of tread left but the traction is bothers me. I am constantly spinning the rear when leaving a stop light in the rain and early on that did not happen. They are decent but I will not buy them again. They are very quiet though.

He has the 250, with the powerstroke, and he just isn't happy with the way they are wearing. He does snowplowing in the winter with it, doesn't seem to complain about that, seems they work well enough for it. I have not run them myself, but other than him, I have heard good things, it's just he was the only person I know with them.
