Hey all! I just picked up a '79 CJ5 Renegade with 34k original miles. The springs are flat and she leans a bit to the driver side. Fortunately a friend of mine had a set of bran spanken new 2" lift springs for his CJ that he ended up not using. In the next few weeks I'm going to throw them on.

My question is what other bushings/parts should i have on hand to do at the same time? The jeep is all original and nothing under the body has been touched since new so I imagine anything rubber under there is in need of replacing. Having never been under a CJ at this point i am clueless as to what that includes.

Thanks for any input. I will throw up some pics when my camera decides to start working. :)

:ww:to the site, Sounds like great CJ. Being from AZ it shouldn't have any rust issues.:chug: You may want to checkout a Daystar urethane 1"body lift/ body mount replacement. New urethane spring mount bushings & shackle bushings.

And If the springs don't come with them, new U-bolts!

Yeah the springs as far as i can tell are a complete skyjacker kit with bushings and U-bolts. I just ordered the shocks and should be good to go as far as that goes.

Thank you guys for the suggestions, I will defiantly take a look at the Daystar body mounts.

If you go poly where all the rubber is, you will enjoy it a whole lot more... just get the special poly grease and lube em up good before you put them in so they don't squeak... new daystart greaseable 1/2" shackles aren't a bad idea either if you have them all aparts... small lift shackles, more beefy, and greasable to boot!
