hey guys i just got a 79' CJ5 and was wondering what type of phuse i need to get my radio working?

Hi Bart4 welcome to the site :ww:

A 1979 should have the blade style fuses, I'm pretty sure...

The fuse panel is under the dash, directly above the high beam dimmer, just in a place where it's a pain in the butt to get a look at.

Not off the top of my head, but I remember that the fuse blocks are labeled. There should be two, one for keyed +12V and another one for constant +12V.

Another thing to check with a radio, make sure you have a good ground. Many a radio haven't worked because of a bad ground.

I have a '79 CJ7 . I have one wire connected to the radio slot, one wire in the slot to the left of the winshield wiper fuse and the third wire runs to ground. My radio uses an in-line fuse. If you want a picture of my fuse box let me know and I will post one.:chug:
