I saw that there are more posts about electrical here than in the Drivetrain section. Can someone please inform me what I'm looking at. Voltage regulator, solenoid, ICM? Or do these not belong here? Thank you.

We will be purchasing the Howell EFI kit and I'm thinking of updating the ignition system as well. I have a Painless kit enroute to replace the complete wiring system. I figured it would be easier than trying to hunt and splice. None of the gauges are working!! :eek: Plus it's almost 40 years old.
Also where can I get an assembly manual for this thing? I have one for my 68 Camaro and it help tremendously. The Chiltons just isn't doing it for me!
 
In the first pic the box to the right under the hose looks like the idle speed control box, which basically works the intake manifold heater and the sol-vac stepper on the carter carb. The middle box looks to be a voltage regulator but I'm not too familiar with the v8's, which it appears you have.
