The in tank fuel pump and sender that Novak industries supplied for my stock 15 gal. Tank is 3/8ths of an inch too long, no gasket or locking washer included. Really disappointed consider how expensive they are. Having to shorten tube and bubble flare end. Also electrical connection to ground is questionable, the spade connector they use does not lock and if it comes loose you're stuck, and the fix means having to drop your tank.

Good company, SHAMEFUL PRODUCT!

Thanks for the review, I was not aware Novak made an in tank pump for the CJ. So how does it work?

I'm hoping it works flawlessly. Will keep you updated. It should be a sweet set up once the bugs are worked out.

Shortened riser tube 3/8th" bubble flared end, now fits perfect. Also changed spade connector and modified pigtail.
My buddie who's helping me out -by doing the install!- May have figured it out. Here's what he had to say.
Though install problem through to conclusion. I believe this is Novak's
mistake: Pump/Sender assembly was designed for Vortec/LS engines requiring
higher pressure pumps compared to TBI. From my experience fuel pump physical differences (high to low pressure) manifest as OD and length. This is due to
motor physical properties, see explanation bellow. Novak explained this
would be there first TBI (low pressure) assembly. TBI pumps are smaller OD
and longer. Assembler at Novak undoubtedly following build sheet, cut stand
pipe for a shorter (Higher Pressure) pump. My guess is no one bothered to
check installed height. This is just speculation, it sure fits though. For
what Novak charged is this reasonable? Rest assured problems will be
corrected.
Novak's haste to throw it together, basic fitment checks missed, locking
ring and O-ring were forgotten. Not sure why this bothers me so much, they

Finished product.
Started the jeep today and everything sounds good.
Pump is nice and quiet and jeep is running well.

Thanks for the update. I have an exterior mounted electric pump that seems to work o.k., it is a low pressure and low amp draw unit. That unit does seem to be a fairly simple way to convert to the in tank pump. It being a new product does seem to have its bugs as you stated. I do keep a spare handy though. I once switched pumps on a busy SoCal freeway, but the problem turned out to be a bad icm.

HI RUSTY4X!

I know this is an older thread but I was hoping to hear how the IN TANK pump/sender unit works from Novak!!!!!

I've recently converted my CJ7 w/AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l to GM TBI AND DON'T want the external fuel pump.. REALLY WANT an internal tank pump... But how is it working for you?

Do you have more pictures of the pump and all the parts?
Is there two connectors for ground and power?
PLEASE give US a update!!!!!

ALSO, I'd rather have a 12-15psi pump CAN I retrofit a less powerful pump... Let's say pump #E3902 that is specifically for the gm vehicles....

If you had to do it all over.. Have you thought of using your CJ7 fuel sender but retrofiting a fuel pump to it???!?!?!?! Only thing I see having a problem is getting the connectors to come out of the tank... Maybe I can cut a hole in the top of the sender and seal with something? But scary! :0

:chug:

Novak is a Good Company...........Most after market parts now carry one part number that covers many install options.........If there was a problem with it perhaps you should have sent it back!
Did you give Novak an opportunity to replace it and or respond?
