Ted and Lesa Polzer of Racine, Wisconsin, sent us pictures of their nicely built ’79 CJ7 . Power comes from a healthy ’71 360 V-8. The engine was bored 0.030-over and runs about 9:1 compression. Other mods come in the form of a Comp Cams 268H cam, an Edelbrock Intake, an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, an MSD ignition, and an oiling system from Bulltear Industries. The engine sends power to a GM Turbo 400 built with a shift kit and a Novak Conversions adapter to fit the twin-sticked Dana 300 . Lift comes from 2.5-inch springs. The front Dana 30 turns 3.54 gears, a Lock-Right, and some MileMarker hubs. The rear axle is a Model 20 with welded tubes, a homemade truss, Moser shafts, 3.54s and a Lock-Right locker. The 33x12.50R15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs turn on 15x10 Ultra 164s while cruising dunes and mild trails.
