Engine Nutter Bypass

I’m seeing all kinds of info regarding the nutter bypass on a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . Can it be done in a 2.5?

2.5 doesn't have a timing or carb computer.

That is the computer.

The pre 84 GM 151 4 cyl was not computer controlled
