nylon gear from key cylinder to rod 77cj5

have overridden key cylinder and have to start jeep by pulling up on the rod and back to stop. the nylon? gear that was on the end of cylinder had desintegrated. anyone know what that piece is called or availibility or ideas. thanks the piece im talking about had the teeth on in that turned with key and pushed the ignition rod?. i thought originaly that it was key cylinder but after taking column apart it was what i believe was plastic or nylon gear (my first trip into a steering column ), and it was in pieces.

I think you refer to the rack and selector gear look here I think they are ready available even ebay here is a non tilt column

the black is the culprit the other attaches to the rod
it is the rack and sector
you can get them from advance or auto zone.Just take the part in with to match up.
