Eight Homegrown JeepsRefurbished ’89 YJ
So the first four years of the Jeep Wrangler were plagued with some seriously poopy parts. The computer-controlled Carter carb on the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l engines, the ’87 YJ’s NP207, and the ’87-’89(ish) Peugeot BA-10 are just a few bastard parts that some of these early Wranglers got. The Pacific Blue ’89 YJ owned by Matt Gummersall of Stone Mountain, Georgia, you see here has left that in the past. A Hemi-Orange 4.0L now sits between the front fenders and the Peugeot tranny was dropped for an NV3550. Lift comes from a Rough Country 4-inch suspension system with heavy-duty shackles. Stock axles spin 33X13.50-15LT tires mounted on black steel wheels.
