Hi guys. I'm interested in an OEM jack and wrench for my '79 CJ5 but had a couple questions:

Where in the world did it originally go? Any pics?

If found, would it be useable on 33" tires?

Does anyone make them now, or am I searching for parts?

While I like the thought of adding this original part to it - I'm not sure its worth the Limited space if it would do no good. I don't really have room for a hi-lift. As always - thank you guys. :chug:

Mine mounts between the drivers seat and the side panel. There is a little bracket mounted on the floor.

Your stock Jeep didnt really come with a usable jack for 33 in. tires. Not sure on the earlier Jeeps but the stock location on the 80s models was in the engine compartment mounted on the passenger side fender. Its only a small scissors jack that may get you buy on flat pavement by jacking under the spring perch. A little shakey if you ask me though. Id fab up a mount for your roll bar to add a hi lift or maybe outside on the tire carrier.

Thanks. I have one of those too - now I know what its for :notworthy: Will any small scissor jack fit there? Do I need a special piece to hold it in place? Mine's just a raised "fin" with a slot in it.

I believe it would have had a strap thru that slot originaly.
I used that bracket with a strap to hold my fire extinguisher.
