I have a Saginaw box from a 73 GrandVille that is one size larger than the 76 stamped or the 800 series. Bolt pattern and spacing are the same so is the input spline and shaft. I know the box works well (as I drove the car) and it has a ton of power...So I want to use it in a trail jeep build.
My question, since the CJ box is mounted at an angle to the frame and uses an offset sector shaft to allow equal distance in the turns, and this box has a straight on sector shaft, can they interchange? I want this for both equal turning distance and because the straight on position has tighter teeth for better lane tracking. So If anyone knows or has links, please share, as I don't want to take apart two good boxes if this wont work.
Thanks
