I would first contact a local disposal service on how to do that. Another option would be to cut it up and put it in the weekly garbage. I do not think it would be classified as hazardous waste, but just scrap metal.

They won't care what shape it's in. There's no real need to cut it up.

I've got a related issue concerning my jerry can. Its filled with gas that's over two years old. I assume it's no longer usable, and i'd prefer not to dump 20 liters of gas in the back yard. I know that NAPA and Autozone will recycle used motor oil, but what about old gas? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Good to know everybody on the forum is a pyromaniac. Not sure if my neighbors would like me starting a bonfire with 20 liters of fuel. While its always good to have some gas around for those pesky gophers, i'm planning on a trip, and since my fuel gauge is not totally accurate, i'd like to have a gas can with fuel that i can use.
