Upon removing the front clip today I found bolts not tightened on the motor mounts. PO was a hack. For piece of mind I want to take the motor apart and check everything. I found an omix complete engine gasket set and want to see if anyone has used their gaskets. Don’t want to do the job twice.

If my motor mounts were loose it wouldn't make me want to take the motor apart, even if I knew the PO was a hack.
Things that would, a failed leak down test, or compression test. When it comes to engines, Transmission , Transfer Case , and axles I buy quality parts. For gaskets I like Felpro.

Stay away from OMIX-it's China s:censored:t!
Always a good idea to put a wrench to every bolt/nut you can on a Jeep.
WHY do you want to pull the engine apart?
What's your background in do'n this?

X2 run don't walk from omix and crown. Felpro gasket sets are the only way to go. I've built plenty of engines and only use Felpro, best on the market.IMHO

I don’t like the idea of finding such a hack job on things I’ve come across. Loose or missing bolts.
I was a twenty year dealership mechanic for Toyota.

Fix what needs fix'n first.;)
Loose/missing bolts on a just bought 34+ year old off road vehicle would not be that uncommon.
As a 'stealership' wrench, then you would know to do a compression and leakdown test of that engine. Plus confirm oil pressure along with a engine oil analysis.
BTW-NEVER trust the OEM electric oil pressure gauge to be 'rite'.
Your 'dime'-Your choice, but I like driving my Jeep in the summer and wrench in the winter.

This is true. I’m gonna double check the timing etc. But it’s gonna be a while till I can fire it up. Lots more parts to buy. Fuel tank. Hoses. Sending unit. Starter. Clutch kit. Mounts. Etc. You know how it goes. Also it’s summer in south Florida all year so I work on it when I can.
